Cookie policy

What we set, why, and how to control it.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Some are needed to make the site work. Others help us understand how the site is used. This page explains the ones we use and how to control them.

How we ask for your consent

We use a consent banner to ask before we set any cookie that is not strictly necessary. Until you choose, only essential cookies run, alongside a privacy-friendly form of analytics that does not use cookies or store anything on your device. Once you make a choice, we respect it.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.

We keep a record of each choice for 12 months so we can show that consent was given: the time, your choices, the banner and policy versions, a random ID stored on your device and your browser type (for example Chrome), never your IP address.

The cookies we use

We group cookies into three categories.

Necessary

These make the site work and remember your consent choice. They are always on.

ns_consent, which stores your cookie choices and a random consent ID for 12 months.
njs_analytics_consent (kept in your browser's local storage, not a cookie), which mirrors your analytics choice so our analytics respects it.

Analytics

These help us see how visitors use the site so we can improve it. They only run if you accept analytics cookies.

PostHog cookies (ph_*), which are set only after you accept analytics. Before that, and if you decline, PostHog runs without cookies and stores nothing on your device.

We do not use Google Analytics.

Advertising

We do not currently run any advertising tags on this site, so no advertising cookies are set. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent before any are set.

This page is the full list of cookies we set.
